birds & wildlife: climate change and the US Fish & Wildlife Service


The US Fish & Wildlife Service has developed a strategy to deal with climate change. There are "estimates that approximately 20-30 percent of the world’s plant and animal species assessed as of 2006 are likely to be at increasingly high risk of extinction as global mean temperatures exceed a warming of 2 – 3°C above preindustrial levels". sturgeon release - you can participate!






It's that time of year again, for the fabulous Sturgeon event at Riveredge Nature Center. Riveredge and the Wisconsin DNR, a group of Volunteers, Sponsors and Donors will release imprinted sturgeons into the Milwaukee River once again. Saturday, October 2, 2010, is STURGEON FEST --- the 5th Annual Return of the Lake Sturgeon to the Milwaukee River.
